Shooting Star CHASE

Shooting Star CHASE is a children’s hospice service, a charity caring for local families with a child or teenager with a life-limiting condition. Currently helping over 600 families living in western London, Surrey and West Sussex. Their aim is to make every day count for these families and to be there for every step of their journey, sharing the good times and helping them through the tough times with practical, nursing and emotional support.
Families receive their support free of charge, 365 days a year, in their own homes and communities and at their children’s hospices. With no guaranteed Government funding they must raise £23,000 a day to continue their vital service. 
During the run up to Christmas we will be asking each of our customers to donate £1 (or more if you want) when making a reservation. TIS will match every donation that is made £1 for £1. Last year you helped TIS raise £700 and recently some of our staff visited the hospice to see for themselves how your donations helped. It proved to be an interesting and moving experience. Your help will make a big difference to the lives of desperately ill babies and children who often spends weeks at a time in hospitals. Your donations will help Shooting Star Chase to bring them home or to one of the hospices where they can be with their whole family.
We promise to give you regular updates on our progress and with your help I am sure we will beat last year’s figure.

About Us

Touchdown Holidays was formed in 1989 by experienced travellers working in the UK airline industry. Fully aware of the concessionary travel benefits available to airline and other travel industry employees, we felt a professional travel organisation was required to service the needs of the travel trade, for their own use. Initially offering accommodation at specially discounted rates to staff making their own flight arrangements.

Touchdown Holidays rapidly grew into what is now the leading tour operator in this field. Accommodation was made available worldwide on all continents of the globe at special rates, with refunds being available should offloads occur whilst travelling on stand-by.

By 1991, a demand existed for discounted air seats on a confirmed basis to eliminate the risk element of travelling stand-by. Popularity grew and grew and today, Touchdown offer package holidays and flight only arrangements for travel on over 40 airlines, together with accommodation only arrangements for those using their own flights.

We also implemented our cancellation waiver policy which ensures that, for just £7pp, you receive a full refund should you have to cancel your travel arrangements prior to departure (conditions apply).

In 2001, Touchdown began circulating special offers via an email newsletter to registered subscribers. This was an instant success. Our database of subscribers has since grown to over 65,000 travel industry employees who are regularly notified of our up to the minute special offers the moment we receive them!
