In this new era where they know that health and safety is even more important to both their guests and team members alike, they have reviewed all points of guest contact throughout their hotels and have introduced advanced hygiene practices in all of their resorts. This means that from the very start of their holiday to the end, all of their guests will feel comfortable and reassured knowing that their health is of utmost importance to us.

CLEANLINESS AND SAFETY IS THEIR NUMBER 1 PRIORITY

At the Mango Bay Group which includes Mango Bay Hotel, Island Inn Hotel and The Sands Barbados, they have implemented strict cleaning protocols and standards, many of which are part of their existing programme and are in keeping with the recommendations from the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and our local Ministry of Health and Wellness. Their Stay Safe, Stay Healthy Programme incorporates deep cleaning practices with hospital grade disinfectant products to ensure continued health and safety measure for guests to enjoy their holiday and for our valued team members who are happy to welcome them to their hotels to stay safe.

They continue to maintain stringent standards of cleanliness and safety protocols. Their hotels have been scrupulously cleaned and sanitised regularly during closure and this regime will continue when they reopen.

HEALTH AND SAFETY IS THEIR PRIORITY

Prevention is the key to safeguarding the health of their employees and guests. They have always maintained an approach to safeguarding both staff and guests from the spread of illness at their resorts under the guidance of medical professionals, including the local MOH and the WHO. Their Health & Safety Team is on hand to ensure every procedure is in place to protect every guest and team member.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

Unfortunately, there are times when guests do have medical issues while on holiday and they would always recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance but more especially in light of the current pandemic, they strongly recommend that all guests purchase insurance which also covers for medical and repatriation assistance for Covid-19.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

They offer open air dining in their restaurants with fresh breezes and they are introducing new ways to encourage their guests to maintain safe social distancing while providing a relaxing resort experience. On property, this will include safe distance table set-ups in their restaurants and bars. On the beach and around the pool, they will also have safe distance beach/lounge chair set-ups (they will of course accommodate families and groups).

Their guests will also notice that a nod and a smile will replace their usual handshakes and hugs!

NEW PROCEDURES

  • Temperature checks will be conducted on arrival at the hotel.
  • Appropriate and visible signage will be placed around the property promoting personal hygiene and physical distancing adherence.
  • Each floor will have a hand sanitiser at the entrance to the elevator.
  • Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout the property, especially in high traffic areas.
  • One couple or family will be allowed in the elevator at any one time.
  • New at home to in-room check in and/or express check in services on arrival at the hotels.
  • Face masks will be required to be worn on arrival and in all common areas.
  • Extended opening times in the restaurant (based on occupancy) to allow for social distancing requirements.
  • Complimentary continental breakfast room service available. Room service is available at other meal-times, as now, with a supplementary charge.
  • Pre-packaged meals available for guests to book in advance.
  • Social distancing practices in keeping with Government protocols.
  • Pool rails (where applicable) will be sanitised regularly in accordance with protocols.
  • Guests will be required to schedule appointments to use the gym with our Front Desk.
  • Guests should bring their own snorkel and mask if they wish to enjoy snorkeling during their holiday.
  • Guests will be required to sign an agreement adhering to the guidelines once on property and around the island.
