Travel Update: Eased on-island protocols for Fully Vaccinated Travellers - click HERE for details

MANDATORY ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • All arrivals to Saint Lucia (5 years and older) must have a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 5 days before arrival.
  • Must complete and submit an online Travel Registration Form (18 years and over) prior to arrival. The requirements differ between traveller types, please select your traveller type below
  • Must adhere to all safety protocols in place throughout Saint Lucia, including wearing a mask in public.
  • Shall be subject to mandatory screening and temperature checks at the port of entry and throughout your stay.
  • Shall be transferred by certified taxi to their approved COVID-19 approved accommodation.

Fully vaccinated travellers will enjoy expanded access to the destination. Travellers are considered “Fully Vaccinated” once two weeks has passed since the second dose of the two-shot vaccine or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. Vaccine Cards must be presented on entry to Saint Lucia.

HEALTH SCREENING

  • All passengers will be screened on arrival. This will include a temperate check.

Download, print and travel and complete the HEALTH SCREENING FORM. The form must be completed on the day of travel and presented at the health screening desk on arrival in Saint Lucia.

Please note that the following should be included on the test results that you upload:

  • The name, address and telephone number of the lab where the sample was taken
  • Your CORRECT name
  • Your CORRECT date of birth
  • The date the test was done
  • The type of test and the method of testing
  • The result

Fully vaccinated visitors can now book hire cars, dine at more local restaurants, and take part in additional activities such as beach hopping, all while observing existing on-island protocols.

Vaccinated visitors now have increased access to all parts of Saint Lucia from the day of arrival without restrictions. Quarantine has been removed for vaccinated returning nationals. For example, vaccinated travellers are able to explore shops, markets, restaurants and activities throughout the island in popular areas including Castries, Rodney Bay, Soufrière and more.

All visitors to Saint Lucia can stay at a range of COVID-certified accommodations (hotels, villas, Airbnb). And for vaccinated visitors, they can now stay at more than two properties if preferred.

“For both visitors and our local residents, our commitment to safely and responsibly coexisting with COVID remains strong,” said Hon. Prime Minister Allen Chastanet. “While all visitors to Saint Lucia can currently experience a wonderful holiday as well as approved tours and attractions, fully vaccinated travellers are now invited to explore the entire destination at their leisure, while following our protocols. We’ve successfully and safely managed tourism since reopening our borders in June 2020, with no need to close because of our protocols and the bubble we created for our visitors and frontline tourism workers. We are delighted to be able to expand the opportunities for vaccinated visitors and ease the restrictions for returning nationals. Vaccinated visitors can now truly holiday like a local.”

To qualify as fully vaccinated, travellers must have had the last dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or a one-dose vaccine at least two weeks (14 days) prior to travel. Travellers will indicate that they are fully vaccinated when filling out the pre-arrival Travel Authorisation form, and upload proof of vaccination. Visitors must travel with their vaccination card or documentation. If you live in England, Saint Lucia will accept the NHS app or your NHS letter to demonstrate your COVID-19 vaccination status. You should not use your NHS vaccine appointment card to demonstrate your vaccine status. Upon arrival in Saint Lucia, pre-registered fully vaccinated visitors will be expedited via a dedicated Health Screening line and will be provided with a non-electronic identification wristband for the duration of their stay. This wristband must be worn throughout the stay and removed when departing Saint Lucia.

Non-vaccinated travellers will continue to be permitted to stay at up to two certified properties for the first 14 days and non-vaccinated returning nationals will be required to apply for quarantine for the same period.

Regardless of vaccination status, no changes have been made to pre-arrival protocols for travellers, including: all arrivals to Saint Lucia (five years or older) must obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken no more than five (5) days before arrival; submit the online Travel Registration form; and must adhere to all safety protocols in place, including wearing a mask in public places. Detailed information on the latest travel COVID-19 protocols for all visitors, plus Frequently Asked Questions for vaccinated travellers can be found at www.stlucia.org/covid-19.

Returning Citizens

All returning St Lucia citizens and residents must also complete a Pre-Arrival registration form for Saint Lucian nationals. On arrival, they are required to quarantine for 14 days either at a pre-approved home quarantine address, government-operated quarantine facility or a COVID-19 certified hotel property. Pre-approval at a government operated quarantine facility is required prior to travel and applications for Home Quarantine should be directed to the Ministry of Health and Wellness for consideration.

Airport Processes

  • Enhanced health & safety procedures at the airport features the following:
  • All arriving passengers will be screened, including temperature checks, at the airport.
  • As a result of screening, all symptomatic passengers will be required to remain in quarantine/isolation at their hotel or Government Operated Quarantine Facility, until the test result is obtained. If the test is positive, they will be transferred to a treatment facility, until they receive two negative test results and are clinically stable.
  • Passengers who pass the health screenings will advance to the Immigration and Customs halls; both of which are equipped with markers for social distancing and sanitisation stations.
  • After successfully picking up luggage, arriving passengers will proceed to the exterior of the terminal, where COVID-19 certified taxis provide: sanitised, non-stop transportation to certified accommodations.
  • Guests that need guidance or further details may visit the St Lucia Tourism Authority desk by arrivals.

Transportation Process

  • All taxis operating from the airport are covid-19 certified. Drivers must wear certification ID.
  • Drivers have been trained in applicable protocols and minimising physical contact.
  • Vehicles will be sanitised before each movement.
  • Drivers should offer hand sanitiser to guests prior to their journey.
  • Masks must be worn by both drivers and passengers for the duration of journey.
  • Departure from resort to airport will be arranged by the hotel to ensure a covid-certified taxi.
  • Returning citizens are also required to utilise covid-certified taxis at their cost.

Covid-19 Certified Hotels

A key part of Saint Lucia’s responsible reopening is the COVID-19 compliance certification process for the accommodations sector. The process of certifying hotels with covid-19 protocols is ongoing and features implementation of protocols and practical demonstrations through inspections conducted by the Ministries of Health and Tourism.

Required protocols for hotels include: maintaining a fully-equipped nurse’s station; observe strict detailed sanitisation protocols for housekeeping; maintain required distance with tables for dining; and have hand sanitiser stations installed throughout the property. Staff have also been thoroughly trained to observe protocols including being subject to the wearing of requisite PPE’s and daily temperature checks on arrival and departure.

Staying on Property & Mandatory On-Island Safety Protocols

To mitigate the possible spread of COVID-19 for visitors and St Lucian communities, all safety protocols introduced for Phase One of reopening remain in place. Visitors will be required to follow the local regulations in St Lucia, including the wearing of masks during on-island transportation and when in public places. Additionally, visitors MAY NOT leave the property by vehicle or on foot during their stay. Visitors may not spend time in one property before moving to another. Any such movements will represent breaches of the Covid-19 protocols and will be handled accordingly by the authorities.

Visitors to St Lucia can nonetheless expect, a bespoke, enjoyable resort holiday experience with customised highlights along with activities and tours arranged exclusively by their hotel. To make the most of the experience, it is recommended that guests consult with their hotel for available activities, tours and explore any special requests prior to arrival, to make their stay even more enjoyable.

To keep visitors informed on the island, health and safety protocols have been reinforced with new signage at airports and other public places.

Please be advised that St Lucia has established a list of “Bubble Countries” within the Caribbean, where protocols are unique. These are exclusively for residents of those countries and do not apply currently to in-transit or international travellers who enter these countries prior to arriving in St Lucia.
