Once you arrive at the pier to board a yacht, you’ll find enhanced embarkation processes with staggered arrivals and departures to observe social distancing rules. During your cruise, Windstar will publish embarkation and disembarkation times at various locations and in the onboard newsletter. A health questionnaire and touchless temperature screenings ensure everyone is healthy prior to embarkation.
On board the yachts, you will find their crew focusing on enhanced sanitation protocols in all areas including tender transportation boats, sports decks and equipment, and motor coaches. They have added staff in the medical centers on board all their yachts. You are welcome to contact them at any time with questions you have concerning your health. They have increased the number of hand sanitizer stations on board each yacht so that you can practice good hand hygiene before you enter any public spaces or restaurants.
Windstar restaurant operation will be further personalized by their crew during every meal and expanded dining times will assist in reducing the number of guests seated at any one time. Windstar offer many restaurant choices within their fleet including outdoor dining on deck at Candles and the Star Grill by Steven Raichlen.
The health, safety and knowledge of all their crew has been being taken very seriously. They will implement protocols which will include additional training on COVID-19 prevention, and crew will be asked to wear personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves. Crew undergo health screenings before boarding the ships similar to guests; they will also have temperature checks twice daily. Onboard functions will be conducted without handshakes by officers and crew, but do look out for their new “Windstar Wave.” Working together, they will keep themselves and people in the communities they visit healthy.
