HOLIDAY BOOKING CONDITIONS & INFORMATION

   

  1. TOUCHDOWN IS FULLY BONDED AS A TOUR OPERATOR WITH THE CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY AND HOLD AN ATOL LICENSE. OUR ATOL NUMBER IS 4104 (P DOBSON, C DOBSON, A FORBES, S FINCH). YOUR HOLIDAY MONEY IS THEREFORE FINANCIALLY SECURE

  2. A contract is not deemed to be in effect until Touchdown has received a signed booking form and confirmation together with any further relevant information in compliance with schedule 2 (regulation 9) of the EC Directive on package travel regarding your holiday (including visa/vaccination requirements) has been provided in writing to the client.

  3. All details are correct at time of going to press. Touchdown reserve the right to make any alterations/price deviations as a result of any change that may occur before departure. The client will be advised as soon as possible and may accept the changes or withdraw from the contract without financial penalty (except where condition 4 is valid).

  4. Should exchange rates fluctuate, Touchdown reserve the right to impose surcharges, calculated as a percentage of the holiday cost. Should surcharges of up to 2% be necessary, Touchdown will absorb the cost. Should surcharges of above 10% be passed on to the client, the client may cancel and receive a full refund of all monies paid. No surcharge will be made for confirmed bookings within 30 days of departure. (Surcharge policy subject to cancellation waiver conditions if applicable.)

  5. Should airport/hotel/security/fuel charges/taxes fluctuate, beyond our control, they will be passed on to the client accordingly.

  6. Touchdown reserve the right to cancel holiday arrangements before departure. In this instance the client is entitled to a substitute holiday of equivalent/superior quality, or a package of lower quality with refund of the difference payable, or a full refund of all monies paid. Compensation may also be payable unless circumstances are/were beyond our control.

  7. Should the client experience or complain of any difficulty by failure of any part of the service, (even in circumstances beyond our control) Touchdown will give prompt assistance to the client in difficulty. The client must communicate at the earliest opportunity, in writing or similar form to Touchdown (and the supplier of the service concerned) to enable Touchdown to assist. No compensation can be considered after the event if Touchdown is not given this opportunity to rectify the situation.

  8. If prevented from proceeding with the holiday the client may transfer the booking to another person who satisfies the conditions applicable to that holiday but will absorb all costs involved.

  9. There will be no responsibility/compensation other than that of the airline/ground operator for delays to outward or inward travel. The special flight prices offered are of a concessionary nature and offered on a confirmed seat basis unless otherwise stated. No compensation, however, is available in relation to overbooking issues, delayed flights and missed connections. Refunds or revised airline ticket values are limited to the price paid for the original ticket.

  10. None of the packages offered require a minimum number of passengers per booking. All packages include meals as stated.

  11. When flights are included eligibility and other conditions are in accordance with the relevant airline. Please ensure you are aware of these before making a reservation. The flights and accommodation are provided at discounted rates only available to eligible travel industry employees. Any client found to be ineligible having previously claimed otherwise will be liable to pay all excess costs on return.

    CANCELLATION POLICY:

    CANCELLATION OF FLIGHTS:

  12. Cancellation Waiver (which must be paid for at the time of booking and cannot be added after payment has been authorised) ensures a full refund (less premium) for cancellation of flights by the client, for any reason whatsoever, until tickets are issued. Ticket issue varies with each airline and the client will be advised accordingly on his/her confirmation/invoice. No refunds or changes permitted once tickets are issued and in addition, there can be no amendments to flights, or refunds for cancellation of flights within 14 days of departure.

    CANCELLATION OF HOTELS / GROUND ARRANGEMENTS: (restrictions may apply) Cancellation Waiver (which must be paid for at the time of booking and cannot be added after payment has been authorised) ensures a full refund (less premium) should client cancel their booking at any time and for any reason up until and including departure day. The Cancellation Waiver is not valid once your holiday has commenced. Please note that certain products, including Cruises, cannot be covered under the Waiver policy, please see our individual website entries.

    Should clients travelling on "standby" be "off loaded", Touchdown (during office hours only) or the hotel, must be telephoned immediately to cancel the reservation. On receipt of a written cancellation, a full refund (less premium) will be paid to the client. Where both flights and hotels have been booked through Touchdown, the relevant Cancellation Waiver policy for each component will be applied separately.

  13. CANCELLATION CHARGES without the Cancellation Waiver Policy:

    FLIGHTS: Prior to ticket issue: £75 per person (see condition 12)
       After ticket issue: Full amount (see condition 12)

    HOTELS: Up to 14 days prior to departure: £75 per person.
       Within 14 days prior to departure: Full cost of the holiday

  14. NOTE: A booking, with or without the Cancellation Waiver, is not deemed cancelled until Touchdown has received the cancellation in writing. Once received, the relevant refund, if applicable, will be paid to the client.

  15. AMENDMENTS: Should the client amend their reservation after Touchdown has received their booking form, an amendment fee of £10 per person is payable. However, please note that AIRLINE TICKETS are non changeable / non refundable once tickets are issued (see condition 12 & 13).

  16. Touchdown will not be liable whatsoever for any loss/damage/personal health/eventualities of war/civil action/act of terrorism/act of God, natural disasters or adverse weather conditions during or resulting from your holiday. WE THEREFORE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE OUT ADEQUATE HOLIDAY INSURANCE.

  17. IMPORTANT VISA/PASSPORT INFORMATION: Touchdown will provide all British Citizen passport holders with the relevant visa requirement information pertaining to their chosen destination. In the event of a late booking, where this may not be possible or non-British Citizen passport holders, this information should be sought from the relevant Embassy before making a reservation. Touchdown will of course assist where possible at all times. All clients should also ensure that their passport is valid for the minimum length of time required by the particular country being visited. In many cases, this is six months from the date of entry. Once again Touchdown can assist with this information upon request.
